always organic
A long story that continues
Fattoria Poggio di Fiesole is an historic producer of excellent organic extra virgin olive oil. Our farmhouse is located on the top of a quiet hill with a panoramic view. Immersed in the quiet Tuscan countryside, its proximity to Fiesole, Florence and the wonders of the surrounding areas makes it an ideal base for any stay. The Farm has served as a refuge for visitors from all over the world for much of its long history, as a convent founded in the 15th century, or during yoga retreats, held in the 1960s and 1970s by Vanda Scaravelli, grandmother of the current owners, with some of the most important masters of the time. Deep roots in local tradition, combined with a unique openness to the world, define our farmhouse. Even today, the old stones of our farm witness retreats, gatherings, weddings, holiday events, and other special moments that continue to write the history of this place.
The hill of health
The farm has always cared for the olive trees and fields in a natural way and without chemical substances, with the centuries-old work of the ancestral farmers, then with the organic methodology adopted by Vanda's son, Alberto Scaravelli in the 1970s. We pursue his vision, striving to achieve sustainability in all aspects of our business. We will be happy to introduce you to our way of doing things during one of our tours of the farm. Our approach to the land, which constantly pushes the standards of organic farming towards a form of permaculture, creates a healthy environment. From our water source, through our soils and into the air, our efforts can be tasted, seen and breathed.
Who we are today
Today, Alberto's children, Enrico and Dario, together with their mother Gabriella and their cousins Anna and Pietro, who live on the farm, try to offer the same peace that our guests have enjoyed for centuries. Coming from different countries and professions, this new generation seeks to infuse their previous experiences in hospitality, architecture, higher education, and travel into the family business. We add each new stone to this building with the utmost respect for those who laid the previous ones, and always curious about who will come after us.
